Patti Hansen, CMT, NCTMB
Patricia “Patti" Hansen has been a massage therapist since 2003. She has been practicing as a CMT in Virginia since January 2006. She was previously a licensed massaged therapist in the states of New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. Patti graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Therapeutic Massage in Burlington, Massachusetts. Patti has continued her studies into specialized structural bodywork with an emphasis on assisting with recuperation from injury. Structural bodywork focuses on key areas of the body, utilizing integrative techniques of myofascial release, neuromuscular, orthopedic and postural alignment.
Patti has been an instructor in the field of massage since 2005, and continues to teach on a part time basis locally. She teaches Anatomy & Physiology, Massage Technique, Ethics, Business, Marketing, Prenatal Massage, and a variety of other adjunctive courses.
A graduate of the University of Lowell-Massachusetts, with a degree in Management, Patti spent nearly 20 years working within the management field before changing careers to become a massage therapist. She wanted to work in a field where she felt her work was more rewarding, and massage was her calling.
In addition to her detailed studies in Structural Bodywork, Patti has taken continued education courses in Canine Massage, Ethics, Hot Bamboo Massage, Intro to Lymphatic Drainage, and numerous other courses. She has also studied Prenatal Massage, Chair Massage, Sports Massage.
Patti has volunteered her time to perform canine massage on the shelter dogs at Heritage Humane Society in Williamsburg, Virginia, and previously at Greater Nashua Humane Society in New Hampshire.
